The Dartmoor Classic is an endurance-based cycling event. The longer distance can be a hard for your body and also your bike.

Please make sure your bike is roadworthy and recently serviced.
Certini will be on-site Saturday afternoon to help with last minute minor repairs and provide accessories such as new inner tubes at a cost to you but won’t be able to offer a full service on the day.

Bring a Bike Repair Kit.
Certini mechanic Jack will be available at the Princetown feed station but bringing your own provisions is the fastest way to keep going. It's a good idea to include a spare inner tube, a pump, a puncture repair kit, multitool, tyre levers and spare chain links.

Tri Bars & Aero Bars are NOT permitted.

Whilst the routes are signed and marshalled, we advise that you familiarise yourself with the course and download your chosen route to your bike computer or mobile phone. The routes are available on our website. If you are using your mobile phone, we recommend the RideWithGPS App. This is free to download and allows you to easily save the route from our website.

In the 48 hours prior to the event, it really helps you if you prepare. You are more likely to arrive refreshed, relaxed and ready to conquer.

• Eat high carbohydrate meals (Pasta, Rice, Potatoes etc.)

• Drink plenty of fluids and avoid alcohol to ensure good hydration levels.
‍
• Pack your kit and plan your travel
‍
• Check the Princetown weather forecast when deciding what clothing to wear
‍
• Bring lights in case of mist or poor visibility on Dartmoor. Yes it does happen.
‍
• Cycle helmets are compulsory and must be worn on the day. No Helmet = No Ride!

• Don't forget your cycling shoes!
‍
• Bring two large drink bottles if you can – staying hydrated is really important.
‍
• Drink & Energy Snacks to sustain you from the start to the first Feed Station.

• Allow plenty of time for travel - Do not end up stressed with a last-minute rush
‍
• Plan to have a good breakfast at least 1 hour before you start your ride.
