Dartmoor Aspiration Day
Hundreds of primary schoolchildren from across Devon descended on Dartmoor to discover the path to their future career at the inaugural Dartmoor Aspirations Day held in March.
Organised by Princetown Primary School, and sponsored by Dartmoor Classic, the event saw over 300 schoolchildren and teachers from seven primary schools* coming together to discover just what it takes to make it in their dream job.
Devon Air Ambulance Rescue
The Bank Holiday weekend of August 2014 was particularly busy for Air Ambulances in the West County. One of the many jobs attended by Devon’s Exeter aircrew was to mountain bike rider, Lindsey Bousfield, who had gone head-first over her handlebars on a steep descent, deep in woodland in the Quantock Hills.

FORCE offers face-to-face support to anyone locally affected by cancer.
FORCE Cancer Charity believes that anyone diagnosed with cancer deserves the best possible treatment and professional support face-to-face and close to home. Since 1987 the charity has spent around £2million on local research and bought nearly £1million of equipment to improve patient care at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital.
Hospiscare: Charity Partner
Hospiscare is an Exeter based local, independent charity which provides high quality care and support to people with a progressive life-limiting illness and those close to them living in Exeter, East and Mid Devon. Hospiscare was formed in 1982 with two community nurses and the hospice was opened in 1992. We currently have 160 staff and more than 1,000 volunteers.
Etixx Sponsor Classic 2016
Organisers, Mid Devon Cycling Club, have reported another rapid 'sell-out' for the 10th running of the popular Dartmoor Classic Sportive which takes place over the weekend of 25th and 26th June 2016.
"The website opened for the 2016 Classic at 08:00, offering 4,000 places across 3 rides, the Grande at 105 miles, the Medio as 65 and the Piccolo at 35. By midday, the Piccolo was sold out with the Medio and Grande reaching capacity within 48 hours." Guy Langworthy, event Chairman told us.
BBC: Team Rickshaw Challenge
The Dartmoor Classic team are very proud to have contributed to the staggering £37 million which was raised yesterday the BBC Childeren In Need appeal.
On Sunday 8th November Team Rickshaw passed through Devon on this years challenge. Their route took them from Okehampton, over the edge of Dartmoor and on to finish at Taunton. The Dartmoor Classic charities officer, Sarah Lakey, and fellow Mid-Devon Cycling Club members, joined the inspiring team of youngsters to offer some support during their incredible ride in challenging conditions.

Launch Date Announced
Organisers Mid-Devon Cycling Club, have announced the date for their tenth running of the Dartmoor Classic Sportive. The popular event will take place on 26th June 2016 with the event village open for the entire weekend.
The Dartmoor Classic website will open for entries on 31st October 2015 with the event likely to 'sell out' its 4,000 rider capacity within 24 hours as it has done for the last 3 years.
