Dartmoor Classic Cyclosportive 2011

The all important date for your diaries! SUNDAY 24th JUNE 2012

The Dartmoor Classic is a non-commercial Cyclosportive, organised by the Mid-Devon Cycling Club and run in association with Specialized. We are passionate about our cycling and share a vision to deliver the best Sportive experience in the UK. By popular demand we will continue to use the same routes as last year. Entries for the Dartmoor Classic have always sold-out months ahead of the publicised entry closing date. This year was no exception with all 2800 places selling in a record time of 3 weeks.

ROAD RACE: This year the Dartmoor Classic is offering you a chance to try your hand at Road Racing. The event will take place on Saturday 23rd June 2012, starting at 18:00 hrs from Abbrook Park Sports & Social Club. The event is the ONLY British Mass Participation Road Race and is open to BC Race Licence Holders (Cat: Elite, 1, 2, 3, and 4) and a 'Go-Race' Category for those who do not hold a BC licence and would like to try Road Racing. PLaces are limited so if you would like to take part you really do need to book in early. The Race will be up to the top of Haytor, the iconic climb in which local rider John Tiernan-Locke secured his title as 'King of the Mountains' title in the 2011 Tour of Britain. The race will also be a fantastic 'spectaot sport' for friends and family, or yourself if you are not participating so please do come allong and support the race if you can.
